As an important part of the initiative to encourage the youth of the city to inspire in sustainable consumption, Microsoft Mobile Devices felicitated sixty talented artists of its “create to inspire fellowship” on completing the program. This was marked by the launch of a special music album called Wires. The young artists created this music album under the guidance of ace musician Neel Adhikari. Ajey Mehta, Managing Director, Nokia India, Dr. Dieter Mutz, Director, GIZ-IGEP, Neel Adhikari and others released the music album.
Microsoft Create to Inspire Workshop
The Kolkata chapter of the Microsoft Create to Inspire program was a first of its kind initiative which brought together the youth of the city to engage in the art forms. The program saw a huge turn of around of two hundred applicants, from whom about sixty fellows were finally selected. Mir (vocal project), Neel Adhikari (Music), Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee (theatre), Swarup Dutta (photography), Iftekar Ehsaan (public art installation) and Sudarshan Chakraborty (dance) were the mentors for the sixty selected young individuals.
The music album which was released consists of eight songs created especially to highlight the theme of sustainability. Mentored by eminent musician Neel Adhikari, it features song writers Nicholas Rixon, Bianca Love, Utsav Dan, Namrata Nath and Dhritiman Das. The album’s mixing and production has been done by Miti Adhikari.
As a result a street play on water conservation, a standup comedy, several dance performances were the outcome of the interaction of the mentors and the young individuals.
The album will be available on Mix Radio for a week. After this the album will be easily available on the various digital platforms for the listeners.
Initiatives of this kind are helpful for the youth of the city to increase their ideas on sustainability and help them become better citizens of the city.
