New Bengali Film Bitnoon Review and Premiere Pics; A Vibrant Mirror for the Married Ones

New Bengali Film Bitnoon Premiere Pics

Pati, patni aur woh!! This has been a common theme for many a Bollywood and Tollywood films made over the years. The topic is not only spicy but also socially relevant, with many a real life couples facing such problems in their married life. This has prompted director duo Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha to come up with an engaging romantic comedy on this topic by the name “Bitnoon”.

Rahul and Mou is a happily married couple with a six year old son. Trouble arises in their marriage when their only child does not allow them the required privacy. Their attempts at keeping the child away fails and they crave for some time that can be spent together. It is at this juncture that Rahul meets Rusha. They develop a relationship which leads to hilarious and disastrous consequences. What happens next in the lives of Rusha, Rahul and Mou? The film answers the question well.

Director duo Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha have proved time and again that they can weave great comedy stories. Their films are well told and have an element of reality in them (but they are all depicted under the garb of the comedy). In this New Kolkata Bengali film Bitnoon too, the director duo have taken up a very relevant topic and presented it to the audience in a very engaging and compelling manner. The thrills of the husband-wife after sending the child to their maternal uncle’s place and getting some time alone is a very real life representation of many married couples. While some may agree about the lack of privacy in their lives others may hide this issue. But the topicality of the issue cannot be ignored.

The director duo must also be credited for showcasing the entry of the third person in their domestic lives with a comic element and not using too much melodrama in the course of events. The final twist at the end of the film is also a good thought on the part of the director duo. There is never a boring moment in the film. The director duo packs in enough twists and turns to keep the audiences glued to their seats.

Acting by the lead consisting of Gargi Roy Chowdhury as Mou, Ritwick as Rahul and Sayoni Ghosh as Rusha have also much role to play in making the film so salty and tangy. As the wife and mother of the six year old, Gargi Roy Chowdhury is a delight to watch. She will remind many sitting in the audience of the chores that they have to undertake daily. The way she represents Mou is a pleasure to watch. Sayoni Ghosh as Rusha is charming and vivacious in her role. She will remind many of her character as the journalist in Kanamachi. She proves yet again that she is a natural when it comes to comedy sequences. Ritwick as the man torn between the two women strikes gold yet again. It is no wonder why he is considered as one of the most dependable actors. His expressions, his angst at not getting enough private time with his wife or his craving for Rusha- all are expressed wonderfully by Ritwick.

Raghab and Subhen’s music is a pleasure for the ears. They are soothing and will be on the playlist of audiences for quite some time.

Bitnoon may look like yet another romantic comedy. But the underlying truth, which is the reality of married life of many individuals, makes the film a treat to watch and at the same time relate with. There are chances that after watching the film you will start trying to steal some time away to make your partner happy and retain the flavor in your conjugal life.

Interview- Actress Gargi Roy Chowdhury on Her Upcoming Bengali Film Bitnoon and the Secret behind her Radiant Glow

Gargi-Roychowdury-Interview

She had played the role of a mother who was tired of thinking about her son’s future if he is not admitted in a good English medium school in the film Ramdhanu. But with Bitnoon she will be seen in the role of a mother, whose privacy is jeopardized due to the pranks of her six year old son. Interesting bits of the conversation with the pretty actress..

Priyanka Dutta, Sholoana Bangaliana- How much different is this role from that you enacted in Ramdhanu?

Gargi Roy Chowdhury- The only similarity is that I am a wife and a mother of a son. But apart from this the roles are different from each other. In Ramdhanu my character was going crazy thinking about the future of her only son if he is not admitted in a good English medium school. In Bitnoon, Mousumi, the character I play is a girl hailing from a higher middle class background. Her family consists of her husband and their only child. The child does not allow the parents enough privacy and this leads to the entry of the third person in their lives. The two characters therefore are extremely different.

Gargee-Roychowdhury-Film

This is your third film with the director duo Sudeshna Roy- Abhijit Guha. What made you actually say “Yes” to the role?

This is actually my third film with them. I have already done Teen Yaari Kotha and Sudhu Tumi with them before Bitnoon happened. The role and also the fact that I have a good working equation with them made me say yes to the role. When I did Dola in Teen Yaari Kotha, I trusted them with closed eyes and did whatever they asked me to do. I also know they are good at drawing great characters in their stories and they will offer me those roles in which they know I can do my best. Hence working with them is always a privilege for me.

The film shows extra-marital affair in a comic manner. What is your take on the subject?

The film may have extra-marital affair in it but this is no Silsila or the other films made on this subject. This is a simple film which showcases the typical Bengali household. However there are some truths which will be showcased in the film. Moreover the third person is usually kept out of the domain of the private life. If the person becomes too important, then the second person loses his/her position. And trouble starts then in the private life of the person.

You began as a news anchor and then shifted to acting. What took you so long to get such good roles?

Well I will say that I was not very keen at that moment to work on such a hectic level. I did not take enough initiatives at that point. That is my fault. I am more responsible now and hence I am getting good roles too (smiles).

Gargi-Roychowdhury-interview

With so many young actresses in the industry now, have you ever felt the pressures of competition?

(laughs out loud) Well healthy competition is good for anyone. With this competitive spirit, I want to prove time and again that I can act and can even outshine my own work. And working with the young actresses is always a pleasure.

This is a question I have been dying to ask you for many days now. You are becoming gorgeous with every passing day. What is the secret behind your glamour?

(Blushes and smiles) Thank you, but this has been possible because of my positivity. I am a positive person and that helps to keep away negative emotions. If you have negative thoughts in your mind that will leave an impact on your skin and you will look aged. Hence if you want to look young and radiant, stop thinking about what happened and simply think about the coming day.

The actress who has finished working in Cholochitro Circus is also planning to do a solo show (Opera kind). Wishing the actress all the best for her future endeavors!!

Interview- Director Abhijit Guha on his Upcoming Bengali Film Bitnoon; A Story that Married Couples will be able to relate with

Abhijit-Guha-Interview

Director duo Abhijit Guha and Sudeshna Roy is renowned for their meaningful comedy films. Be it Cross Connection, Teen Yaari Kotha, Prem By Chance or the recently released Ekla Cholo, the director duo has been entertaining the masses and also spreading meaningful message amongst the audiences with their films. Sholoana Bangaliana correspondent caught up with director Abhijit Guha to speak about his soon to be released film Bitnoon. Excerpts from the salty-tangy conversation..

Priyanka Dutta, Sholoana Bangaliana- Bitnoon is quite an unusual name for a Bengali feature film. Why is the film so named?

Abhijit Guha- Bitnoon or rock salt as you know has a salty and tangy taste to it. There are people with High blood pressure problems or indigestion issues. Taking a pinch of rock salt not only enhances the taste but also helps a lot in the improvement of the health of individuals. Now back to your question as to why we named the film Bitnoon. That is simply because our lives are also filled with such salty and tangy moments. And in this film we will be highlighting life in all its spicy and salty form.

Bengali-Film-Bitnoon-story

Sounds tasty, I mean interesting. Tell us something about the film’s story.

(Laughs out loud) Even you are finding it tasty at the mere mention of rocksalt. Jokes apart the film showcases conjugal problems. Rahul and Mou is a happily married couple with a six year old son. The trouble is the child does not leave the parents alone thereby destroying the privacy of the parents. Even when Rahul tries to woo his wife, the child comes in way. It is then that Rusha enters his life and this leads to a disastrous and hilarious consequence.

Many Bengali men will be able to relate to the problem that we are trying to showcase with the help of this film. There was a time when people used to say that a child will save a marriage; these days however a child and all the attention he demands increases the gap between the husband and the wife leading to separation. This is a reality and we have been trying to show this in our film. The audiences will surely be able to relate to this fact.

Bengali-Film-Bitnoon-story

There are a couple of problems showcased in the film about present day society. Are you by any chance giving any solution to the audiences?

No, we are leaving an open end. We are just merely pointing out what is happening all around us. The film is like a mirror of the society and we did not want to pose any solutions to the problem. The audiences are wise enough to know how to tackle their own issues.

Speaking about the cast, you have actors like Sayoni Ghosh, Gargi Roychowdhury and Ritwik in the lead roles. What was the basis for the selection of the roles?

We selected all the three actors as they are all talented and versatile. We did not choose them merely for their star power or fame. They suited the role perfectly well and hence the decision to cast them.

Bitnoon-release-date

Like all film makers you also do have some expectations from this film. How do you think the film will perform at the box office?

I personally feel that the film will do quite good business. I am not telling it will be a blockbuster. But I hope that the audiences will go to the hall and watch the film. That will be a great appreciation of the hard work that the entire team has done.

Bitnoon releases on the 3rd of April. Make sure you watch this tangy salty real life tale as am sure most couples today will be able to relate to this very realistic depiction of a certain stage of marriage.
