Hawaizada Star Ayushman Khurana Promotes the Film in Kolkata
“I had asked my mentor Shoojit Sircar before actually signing the film, Hawaizaada. I have heard that he has completed shooting for Piku and the film he produced “Open tee Bioscope” is also doing well” said actor Ayushman Khurana. Actor Ayushman Khurana who has been mesmerizing the audiences with his acting skills in films like Vicky Donor is back again with Hawaizaada. The film is based on the life of scientist Shivkar Bapuji Talpade who is believed to have built the first unmanned aircraft eight years before the Wright Brothers achieved the feat. The actor was in the town for the promotions and he also interacted with the media.
“Like many of you, even I was not aware of the work done by Shivkar Bapuji Talpade. This is the problem with Indians. We hardly are aware of our history. For example, Pan Singh Tomar was not known to many people. It was after the film was made that many people came to know about him. With this film I want to see that every Indian sees the film and becomes proud of the achievement of the man. The fact whether he had actually done the task or not is a different question. But he tried and we acknowledge that” said the actor.
The actor who hails from Punjabi had to learn Marathi and also the mannerisms of the people of 1895, the era in which the film is set. The actor felt that learning the mannerisms of the people of that era was more challenging than learning the language Marathi.
Having shared screen space with Mithun Chakraborty in the film was a huge experience for Ayushman. “To become a superstar from someone not known in the industry is a huge achievement and I respect Dada for all he has achieved. Like him our hero in the film is also an underdog. And he achieves his dream of making the first unmanned plane” said the actor.
Directed by Vibhu Virender Puri, the film also stars Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Sharda in important roles.
The film released today and is already getting rave reviews.
