EyeWithin Club Kolkata recently played host to the Music Launch of singer Subroto Mukherjee’s album Wind Chimes. Subroto is one of those rare talents who believe in hard work and his beliefs totally reflect in his Audio Music Album Wind Chimes as the songs, along with being soulful are full of honest emotions; something that is so inherent to Subroto.
The album Wind Chimes has eight songs and each one is a masterpiece in itself. Right from Sufiana to Bengali folk to DJ Mix the album has it all, making it a one stop solution for all moods and occasions. Such a fantastic compilation of songs also speaks volumes about Subrata’s versatility as a singer. Not just the audio tracks, even the video that accompanies the song Saayian is a treat to the eyes as Subrata with that “Mumbaiaa” bent of mind has created the video so beautifully that it is sure to attract the attention of one and all.
Present at the music launch were some of the stalwarts of Kolkata Music industry like Soumya Bose, Sanchayita, Aabir Mukherjee, Goutam Ghosal and others who have also played a very important role in giving shape to the album Wind Chimes and mentoring Subrata.
Speaking to Sholoana Bangaliana, Gautam Ghosal said, “I know Subrata from the very beginning. When he called me for the first time, I was skeptical if he could do it because he has a very Non-Bengali tone in his language. But he did it”.
Aabir Mukherjee told Sholoana Bangaliana that Subroto is not just a good singer but a good human being too and when someone is good at heart, the music he creates has to be beautiful.
Soumya Bose, one of Kolkata’s most popular music directors who has worked most closely with Subroto during the making of the album also appreciated his efforts and his dedication towards music. Mr. Bose also took the opportunity to re-iterate the problems of piracy and again and again urged the listeners to buy original Cds as only then can singers and musicians eventually survive and continue to create good music.
Veteran singers like Usha Uthup have also appreciated Subroto’s album and his singing and we hope that post this album, the already busy and booked Subroto is further loaded with great opportunities so that he can fulfill his most cherished dream of establishing himself as a renowned Tollywood playback singer.
