IBF, Films Division, LAIFC in association with ILEAD conducted a two daylong seminar on Emerging opportunities in television and film industry at the ILEAD campus in Kolkata. Tollywood actor Prasenjit Chatterjee was the chief guest for the seminar and Bijay Khemka and Suman Ghosh along with others were the esteemed guest speakers of the event.

The objectives of the seminar were to understand the present status and the future growth of film and television industry in India. This will help in developing an understanding of effective film and television marketing and creating awareness about the entrepreneurial opportunities in the film and television industry in the country. This will further help in understanding the challenges of this profession and competencies required to excel, creating a platform to know and understand different ways of fund raising and financing for films.
Prasenjit Chatterjee said on the occasion “Film industry has great scope. When I used to act a couple of years before, the industry was declared dead by many people and critics alike. But I am thankful that a couple of people continued to believe and act due to which we have been able to come this far. The only thing is that the people will have to understand all the nuances and work accordingly. The industry offers great opportunity for the people. The students just will have to keep their eyes open and work towards the goal”.
In the two day seminar organized at the ILEAD campus the students got the opportunity to interact with the film producers, television channel heads and technical expert and share their ideas with them; an experience that is sure to leverage the entry of many a young entrepreneurs and professionals into the film industry.
