Singer Silki Agrawal Nominated for prestigious GIMA Awards for Devotional Album ‘Soul Chants’

Singer Silki Agrawal has been nominated for the prestigious GIMA Awards for her devotional album Soul Chants. The press conference announcing the nomination was held at The Press Club.

Silki Agrawal started singing at a very young age, encouraged by her father who is a music enthusiast himself. She was first invited to sing “Gurumantra” at ‘The International Leadership Conference”, of Pranic Healing, which was held in Vedic Village Kolkata. Silki Agrawal’s journey toward the soul-searching art of Pranic Healing has been instrumental in her rendition of the Guru Mantra.

“I have always tried to spread happiness and positive vibes in the lives of the people around me. When I was small and people asked me to sing, I used to sing devotional songs. Hence it was very obvious for me to venture into such songs. I believe my songs transcend the borders of culture, religion and language” said the singer.

Soul Chants is an album by Silki Agrawal, which is an amalgamation of three pacifying chants – Gayatri Mantra, Ajai Alai and Guru Mantra. The three songs of soul chants emphasize Gayatri Mantra as divine light, Guru Mantra as divine love for the Guru and Ajai Alai as divine power.

Silki states, “I love listening to soulful unplugged soothing songs. Lataji, Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh are few of my favorite Bollywood singers and I also love listening to Adele because I find her music powerful yet soulful”. Some of the songs currently on her playlist include “Tere Bin” from the film Wazir and “Agar Tum Saath Ho” by Alka Yagnik from the movie Tamasha.

Silki has been nominated alongside musical stalwarts like Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, and S.P. Balasubramaniam. We wish her all the best and may she win the coveted award!!
