War is not and can never be the solution to a problem. However many countries have been fighting since times immemorial over petty and grave issues alike. War only causes devastation and loss of life and property. However the war prone areas and the life of the common people in these areas are also very critical. This is what has been highlighted in the upcoming Bollywood film Identity Card. The cast of the film including Tia Bajpayee, Vipin Sharma, Furqan Merchant and the producer Zeba Sajid were in the city for the promotion of this film.
New Bollywood Movie ‘Identity Card’ Press Meet in Kolkata
“The story of the film is about the problems and the stern behavior of the Special Task Force. The Kashmiris face such stern behavior from them due to an identity card. The film shows all those issues which the people of Kashmir face due to the Indo-Pak fights at the border. This is my first film as a producer and without the support of the cast and the director, this would not have been possible” said producer Zeba Sajid.
Debutant actor Furqan Merchant was extremely excited to be a part of this award winning feature film. Speaking at the occasion he said “I play the role of a Kashmiri Boy who is preparing for Kashmir Public service exam. My character falls prey to Special Task Force due to an identity card. The film has a message and portrays the situation in Kashmir realistically” said Furqan Mechant while speaking with Sholoana Bangaliana.
Tia Bajpayee plays the role of a Delhi based Journalist in the film. “She is a Muslim girl who is more concerned about her work. She is not interested about the happenings in Kashmir until she becomes a victim of some events. Identity Card is more of a festival film and not the typical masala Bollywood film. It deals with serious issues which have an effect on the lives of the people” said the actress.
The film has won many awards for direction and has even bagged the best film award at California International Film festival and Jaipur International Film Festival.
The film is slated for release on the 29th of August.
