Cultural Program to Observe Safer Society Day; Rituparna Sengupta, Samidh Graces Occasion


Bishwa Bandhan Foundation (India) for Cerebral Palsy observed Safer Society Day recently. A cultural program was organized to celebrate this day. The event was graced by Rituparna Sengupta, Samidh, Lopamudra Mitra and other eminent dignitaries.

The foundation’s sole aim is to save the lives of those people who are losing their lives due to lack of medical awareness. They would like to promote medical awareness amongst the common people with support from doctors. They will also like to educate everyone about the mishaps which can happen due to lack of medical knowledge.


These continued efforts of the organization have been supported by different heads of states namely the King and Queen of the Netherlands, President of India, Governor and Chief Minister of West Bengal, world famous musicians like David Garrett, player, head of the organizations like Michel Platini, president of UEFA, Chairman of UBS and celebrities of different parts of the world.

Thus, with the help of these activities, they hope to save the lives of many people who lose their lives due to lack of medical awareness.

Rituparna Sengupta and Pandit Tanmoy Bose at Abhishek Tomar Jonyo


The Bishwa Bandhan Foundation (India) for Cerebral Palsy organized the second medical symposium on “Possible Preventive Measures of Cerebral Palsy” at Crystal Hall, Taj Bengal. The Hon’ble VC, WBUHS, Dr Bhabatosh Biswas, Dr Santanu Sen, Hony. Secretary, IMA, Bengal State Branch, Dr Chandan Banerjee, Secretary IMA, Calcutta Branch inaugurated the symposium by lighting the lamp along with the brand ambassador of the organization, actress Rituparna Sengupta.


The medical symposium was initiated to establish a dedicated institutional set up for proper treatment with ultra modern rehabilitation therapies for cerebral palsy besides providing possible preventive measures. To make people aware about cerebral palsy different medical seminars, symposiums, publishing different research papers, cultural, advertising activities will be held time and again.


The medical symposium witnessed the demonstration of website of the organization followed by discussions by several eminent doctors. After the discussion session a cultural program “Music for Hope” was performed to celebrate diversity of rhythm by Pt. Tanmoy Bose and his musical troupe.

Musical Extravaganza “ABHISHEK TOMAR JONYO” brings the Kolkata Music Fraternity together to help Spread Awareness about Cerebral Palsy

Kolkata Music Concert to Increase Awareness on Cerebral Palsy

A musical extravaganza in fond memory of Abhishek Mitra titled  Abhishek Tomar Jonyo was organized by the Bishwabandhan Foundation for Cerebral Palsy, at Nazrul Mancha.


Abhishek Mitra, a young boy of 27, was suffering from a disease called cerebral palsy. He succumbed to the disease on 26 June, 2014 due to lack of medical awareness regarding specialized care of cerebral palsy.


To mark the occasion of his 28th birthday, a gala cultural evening was initiated featuring artistes like-  Vinod Rathod, Pandit Tanmoy Bose, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Rituparna Sengupta and dance troupe, Rupankar,  Sidhu, Samidh Mukherjee, Anwesha, Aneek, Madhumonti Maitra,Satinath Mukhopadhyay, Sutapa Bandyopadhyay, Sanjay Chakraborty & Reshmi, Priti Patel & dance troupe. The theme of the evening was spreading awareness among mass and clinical personalities about this grave disease.


Bishwabandhan Foundation for Cerebral Palsy targets to increase the awareness among the people with the help of workshops about this life threatening disease. The organization will also be publishing journals and advertisements in the media for enhancing the knowledge of the people. They have plans of working with different medical and regulatory bodies in private and Government sector and build different specialized consultation, treatment and rehabilitation centers across India.


Gautam Mitra, Chairperson, Bishwabandhan Foundation for Cerebral Palsy, said, “This is a tribute to my son Abhishek Mitra who was a keen music lover, on his 28th birthday. Hence we thought of organizing such an event on his birthday. With this event we also want to increase the knowledge of the people regarding this disease so that the lives of young people can be saved in future”.

The musical evening was a grand event to remember and served as a good platform for spreading awareness about cerebral palsy.
