When Tagore was in Silaidaha, he came in contact with people like Siraj Sai, Lalan Sai, Gagan Harkara and many others. They were singers and had a rustic element in their songs. Tagore was much influenced by them. He came to know about Kirtan and other folk songs of Bengal. It is after this that one finds the pastoral touch in the songs of Tagore.
The music album has Bengali modern songs by Amrita Dey while the folk song is by Tanmoy Biswas. The music album release ceremony also saw a dance recital Madhumadhuri being performed. This was choreographed by Manjusri Roy Chowdhury.
The album has been released by Raga Music and is available at all leading music outlets in the city.
In the august presence of director Arnab Riingo Banerjee, Aryann Bhowmik, Rana Mitra, Choiti Ghoshal, Aishika, producer Pradip Churiwal and others, the press conference of the upcoming Bengali film Messi took place.
The film Messi is about Prosun who is a typical unemployed, disillusioned young graduate looking for work, dreaming a life with the lady he loves and be the ideal son to his parents, as they want him to be. Subrata, his father, a small time road engineer and a defamed soccer coach, has always considered Prosun (Rono) a curse from his last birth. Prosun’s best friend is his little brother Chotu (Aryan), nicknamed as Messi. He is younger to Prosun but is the pride of the family.
Chotu possess the good looks, the brains and the skills that his elder brother only dreamt of having– the talent of being a great soccer player! Somehow, adversity finds its way through the family and the lives of Prosun, his love, Mou and Chotu. One incident brings the entire world crashing to ground around Prosun and every happiness and bleak flame of hope start to extinguish. Messi cannot play soccer anymore. What happens next is what the film all about.
A die-hard Argentina fan, actor Aryann Bhowmik is more than happy to play the role of Messi in the film. “I would have been less excited had I been asked to play the role of Ronaldo in the film. Playing this character will be slightly easy as I have played football on the streets. I also have not got the chance to play football in the playground. So I could easily relate with the character. Apart from that I am following some exercise regimen so that the body looks as if I am a footballer and not an actor trying to act like a footballer” said the excited actor.
Speaking about the film Messi, director Riingo said “Messi is actually a metaphor in the film. This is the story of every individual who despite facing failures have risen up to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. This is a sports oriented film and football will have a sufficient screen time. About twenty to twenty five minutes of the film will be allotted to football games. About eight to ten games will be shown and the actors are training themselves for the act”.
How football can build brotherhood amongst us will also be highlighted in the film, revealed the director. “We all have a Messi in us. How we bounce back despite all odds is what the film all about” said Riingo.
The film Messi has Ronodeep Bose, Aryann Bhowmik, Rana Mitra, Choiti Ghoshal, Sumit Samaddar, Nigel Anthony, Pratik Roy, Chirodeep Mitra and newcomer Aishika in important roles.
The music of the film will be composed by Dibyendu Mukherjee (Cactus). The music will be an important part of the film and a theme song will also be composed for the film.
