Actress Roopa Ganguly Glad to Play a Domestic Help in Nayanchapar Dinratri; “Welcome Change from Usual Sophisticated Characters”, Says Roopa

Roopa Ganguly Starer Bengali Film Nayanchapar Din-Ratri Music Launch

The promo and the music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Nayanchapar Dinratri took place at the International Club. The event was attended by director Shekhar Das, Rupa Ganguly, Barun Chanda, Kumar Bose, Pandit Debojyoti Bose, Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Chandreyee, Biswajit Chakraborty and others.

Speaking at the occasion director Shekhar Das said “This is the second part of my Kolkata series after the film Necklace. In this film the necklace also plays an important role. I have always been interested in understanding the sentiments and sensibilities behind the rural-urban divide. The domestic helps on whose lives the film is based are the outsiders in our society. My films contain a little bit of political reference and hence many producers do not wish to go ahead with my scripts. Hence I have tried to go mild on these issues this time”.

Looking beautiful in a black and gold bordered sari, Rupa Ganguly who plays the role of Nayanchapa in the movie said “I am very grateful to the director for believing in me and casting me in this role. I have been always told that my features will never suit any role other than that of a sophisticated high profile lady. Thank God someone thought of me and visualized me in a different role”.

The music of this film has been composed by Pandit Debojyoti Bose. There are six songs in this film. Srikant Acharya, Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Paramita Chakraborty, Kalikaprasad Bhattacharya have lent their voices to the songs in this film.

The film has a stellar cast including Debdut Ghosh, Barun Chanda, Kunal Padhi, Debranjan Nag, Alokananda Roy, Kaushik Bhattacharya and others.

The editing of the film is by Sankha and the DOP is Joydeep Bose. Anup Mukherjee has handled the sound design while the art direction is by Gautam Basu.

The film is slated for release soon.
