Cake mixing ceremonies have become a part of the tradition to spread the warmth of the festive season the world over. The city of Kolkata is also not behind. Said to be a harbinger of good tidings and happiness, people from different walks of life come together on the occasion to participate in the event and bask in the bonhomie.
Mani Square, one of Kolkata’s most popular retail destinations, hosted a cake mixing ceremony to mark Children’s Day and also to celebrate the onset of the Christmas season. Noted dancer Tanushree Shankar with students from her Tanushree Shankar Dance Academy, artist Eleena Banik, filmmaker Anindita Sarbadhicari and Nilanjana Chakraborty and their children participated in the ceremony along with Mr Sanjay Jhunjhunwala, CEO, Mani Group and Ms Sudarshana Gangulee, Senior General Manager, Mani Group. This is the first time this ceremony is being held in any shopping mall in Kolkata.
At the cake mixing ceremony, huge quantities of assorted hank-picked dry fruits, aromatic spices, fruit and premium spirits that would go into making the delicious cakes at the end of the year were mixed together. The happiness on the children’s faces served with special goodies at the Mani Square Food Court afterwards, made the event a grand success.
