Kolkata Chinese Restaurant Buddha Bites now in Behala; An Interesting New Menu Awaits Patrons here


“Once the Metro work is over, Behala will be a posh area. What better place to open an outlet of Buddha Bites? Moreover there was a steady demand from the customers living in this side of the city for an outlet of Buddha Bites here. Hence, we are now here in Behala” said Saoli Mazumder, co-owner of Buddha Bites at the inauguration of the new outlet. This is the sixth outlet of Buddha Bites.


Also present at the inauguration were Koneenica, Sarbari Datta, Chaiti Ghoshal, Ujjaini, Eleena Banik and many other eminent personalities.

The eighty seater restaurant will be serving a new menu designed exclusively for this new outlet. However, the old signature dishes will also be available on the menu. Some of the dishes worth tasting are Pepper Schezwan lamb in casserole, Stirred fried duck with Pak Cho in Oyster sauce, Pork with tofu rice wine, lemon spicy fish, Spicy chicken with pineapple, Prawn spicy ginger and garlic sauce and many others.


A wholesome combo meal format will also be made available for the people. This is keeping in line with the tradition followed in many South-Asian countries. This is pocket friendly without compromising on the quality and taste of the foods.

Speaking at the occasion, actress Koneenica said “In this age, two women running a restaurant successfully and opening the sixth outlet is no mean feat. They deserve a pat on their back. I have invited all my female friends here to celebrate this new outlet inauguration. This is indeed a great addition to their achievements. Way to go!”


Keeping in pace with the changing needs of the customers, the restaurant has also launched their Mobile App. They also have a website which gives insight on the latest offerings of the restaurant and also gives people the chance to order food online.

The average price per customer is Rs 800 plus taxes.

The Noodle Hub at Naktala Kolkata all Set to Offer an Assortment of Thai and Burmese Dishes


“You see we do not have many restaurants offering Thai or Burmese dishes under one outlet. This restaurant will be offering such delicacies for the customers, which is great. One can order a Burmese starter and follow that with a Thai main course. A great initiative indeed” said designer Agnimitra Paul at the official launch of The Noodle Hub at Naktala. Also present was painter Wasim Kapoor at the event.


The Noodle Hub is the brainchild of Jayanta Chatterjee and Sanjoy Roy, who helped in the setting of Mainland China along with entrepreneur Ranajit Ghosh.

The restaurant is a sixty six seater outlet. Some of the signature dishes under the Chinese section available at the restaurant include pork hot bean, Fish in Hong Kong style, Fish in Chilli plum sauce, Crispy Konjee lamb, Fish in Hunan sauce, Prawns in butter garlic sauce, Homey glazed lemon chicken, Malaysian noodles and others.


Khao suey Burmese style, Chicken wings with Thai sweet chilli sauce and cottage cheese Koh samui are available under the oriental section. Sui long bao, Chicken chin kao and Brocoloi cashew nut dumpling are the special dishes under the Dumplings section.

A meal for two will cost Rs 700 plus taxes. The timings for lunch are from 12 noon to 4pm and dinner will be available from 6.30 pm to 11.30 pm.

Kolkata Chinese Restaurant Chowman’s New Outlet in Behala Inaugurated by Soham and Arunima Ghosh


“I am allergic to prawns but I still eat the prawns made by the chefs at Chowman. They make them so well that my mouth waters at the sight of them” revealed actor Arunima Ghosh. The actress along with actor Soham inaugurated the Behala outlet of Chowman.


Most residents of Behala have to travel to Park Street or South City Mall to gorge on authentic Chinese dishes. This is the reason why Managing Director of Chowman, Debaditya Chaudhury came up with this outlet in Behala to cater to the needs of the people in this locality.


Located near MP Birla School at Behala, the restaurant is well spaced with seating capacity of fifty five people. The theme of the restaurant is that of the sleeping Buddha. Chinese lamps, different poses of Lord Buddha have been used for adorning the restaurant.


The restaurant boasts of a wide array of dishes both for the vegetarian as well as the non-vegetarian customers. Exotic veg in white sauce, Vegetable crispy honey fried wontons, Mixed vegetables in pickled chilli sauce, Tofu in black bean sauce, Exotic vegetables in chili basil sauce are high on the list of favorites in the vegetarian section.

In the non-vegetarian section different dishes made from prawns, chicken, pork, fish, lamb and crab are readily available to satiate the taste buds of the customers.

In between posing with a lobster dish, Arunima also added “I really love the fish preparations here. They experiment so much and the results are so delicious that I have a hard time deciding what to order from their menu”.

So hop in to Chowman and gorge in the Chinese delicacies!!
