‘Cycle Heritage Quiz’, presented by Cycle Pure Agarbathies, returned to Kolkata with its 5th edition at the Kalamandir Hall. Students of class VIII to class X forming over 352 teams from around 75 schools in the city participated in the preliminary round of the competition. Amongst them, only 6 teams made it to the final.
The Six Finalist Teams were Ramkrishna Misson Narendrapur, D.P.S Ruby Park, Gokhale Memorial Girls School, Adamas International School, Jadavpur Vidyapith and Bidya Bharati.
Cycle Heritage Quiz is the only quiz in the country focusing solely on the Heritage of India. Actor Riddhi Sen of Open Tee Bioscope fame and his on screen mother Sudipta Chakraborty, a national award winning actress graced the event as the Guests of Honour.
The presence of Satyen Das as a very special guest who has conquered the highest motorable pass of Himalaya with his self remodeled rickshaw added more enthusiasm on the dais. Popular television personality Mir enthralled the audience as the Quiz Master for this year again. Riddhi Sen enthralled the audience by performing a song at the event.
All the questions of the quiz were related to the heritage of India including, epics, mythology, origins of festivals and traditions and more. The awards were given away to contestants who had the most prolific knowledge on India’s rich art forms, culture, tradition and history.
The Guest of Honour, Sudipta Chakraborty, commented on the occasion, “The Cycle Heritage Quiz is a commendable initiative undertaken by Cycle Pure Agarbathies. The Quiz contest was initiated in 2011 with an objective to encourage young minds to battle their brains and at the same time learn more about our country’s rich art forms, culture, tradition and history.
In addition to Trophies and Certificates 1st, 2nd & 3rd prize winners were rewarded with iPad Mini, HCL Me Tab, Fast Track Wrist Watch respectively.
Through the Cycle Heritage Quiz, Cycle aims to restore the countries diminishing art, values and culture. The quiz had questions on several themes like Heritage monuments, epics, Mythology, Origin of Festivals and Traditions and more.
The winners of the Cycle Heritage Quiz – Kolkata 2015 were as follows. Ramkrishna Mission Narendrapur were the winners, DPS Ruby Park the first runner up and Gokhale memorial Girls’ School was the second runner up at the event.
