Grand Finale of Arup Rataner Sandhane Held; Second Activity of Pratima Chandra Foundation

The grand finale of Rabindra Gaane Pratima Chandra Puroshkar named Arup Rataner Sandhane is the second activity of Pratima Chandra Foundation. This was formed in October 2016. The first initiative was a classical music (vocal) competition held in November 2016.

The event was organized jointly by Daakghar and Pratima Chandra Foundation. Three thousand people from all over India came for the auditions. 93 among them were selected, out of which only 12 made it to the finals. Eminent singers like Indrani Sen, Sraboni Sen, Pramita Mullick performed at the event and even took part in judging the participants.

The winners received trophies and musical instruments worth sixty thousand rupees.

Hoi Choi Mela Organized by Daakghar and PC Chandra Garden; Focus on Cottage Industry and Handicrafts of Bengal

To highlight the work of the small cottage industry of Bengal and handicrafts of Bengal, an event titled Hoi Choi Mela was organized by Daakghar and P. C. Chandra Garden. Meeryung Hall, Alokananda Roy, Uttam Das Baul and many other eminent dignitaries graced the event.

Daakghar is an organization which follows the works of Rabindranath Tagore as a path finder of Bengali culture and literature. The main aim of this organization is to take up the philosophy of Tagore and empower Bengali tradition with a new ethnicity. Students of Daakghar also took part in the event with their creations like home made food, handicrafts, homemade toys and so on.

Hoi-Choi-Mela

Hoi Choi Mela was not just any other handicrafts fair. It also continuously showcased the performing arts like dance, drama, classical songs and others for the audience. 300 students of Daakghar between 5 and 60 years performed for four hours live at the event.

The event was a huge success and helped in giving the younger generation an idea of the philosophy of Tagore!!
