New Kolkata Bengali Film Black
“Black” directed by Raja Chanda and produced by Rana Sarkar will be the first mainstream film from Dag Creative Media. The press conference of the film took place recently in the presence of Soham, Vidya Sinha MIM, Raja Chanda and others.
While addressing the media, director Raja Chanda said “This is my fourth film with Soham and I had a great time working with him. As I am from an advertising background, I believe in repositioning of products. We are all products. Hence, I have given Soham this rough and tough look. As for Mim, she has done a great job. She did a good job in the dance sequences and we just had to work on her diction”. The director repeatedly highlighted on the fact that this is a film based on an original and is not a remake of any film.
The film Black is about Kallol who happens to be not only a good human being but also a dutiful Police officer. Kallol is duped and later arrested on false grounds. He succumbs to the insults and commits suicide. Biltu , Kallol’s son vows to take revenge. Biltu is brought up by Anwar, and joins his gang on growing up. Biltu transforms into Bullet and fights the criminals. What happens next is what the film all about.
Soham plays the role of Bullet while Vidya Sinha MIM, one of Bangladesh’s top mainstream actresses will be seen in the role of Tina.
Soham said “I had a great time shooting the film. We shot not only in Kolkata but also in Bangladesh. The adulation and love that we received from the people in Bangladesh was mind blowing. We have plans of going to Bangladesh for promotions before the film releases”. Soham praised his co-star, Vidya Sinha MIM and described her as “simple and very dedicated”.
The music is by Dabboo and Rajputra. Dabboo has composed two songs while the other two has been composed by Rajputra.
Black will be releasing across Bengal on 27th November.
