What happens as a result of this is what the film is all about.
Debutant director Ipsita Seal said “My main profession is that of an advocate. But I am a painter by passion. When I paint pictures, if I am not in front of you, you may not understand the whole picture the way I want you to understand it. The film for me is a big canvas and I want to reach out to more people with this medium. Hence I thought of plunging in the world of films”.
Indraneil Sengupta was the first choice for the role of Sayantan for the director. “He has very expressive eyes and in many scenes in the film, the journalist had to just express with his eyes as the scenes did not have much dialogues. Hence, I selected him for the role. When the script was being written I had him in my mind for the role of Sayantan” said the director.
Rana Dasgupta is the cinematographer while Surojit Chatterjee has composed the music of the film.
Paoli Dam, Arijit Dutta, Dulal Lahiri, Subhrojit Dutta, Dimple Paul, Rana Mitra, Sohini Sanyal and Joyjit Banerjee will be seen in pivotal roles in the film. The film has been produced by Ram Cine arts 2014 which had made one of the biggest hits of Bengali film industry Dadar Kirti in 1980. After a gap of thirty five years, the production company is back again in the film making business.
The film Prime Time is slated for release in mid-September.
