Dance Bangla Dance Junior is back yet again!! In its ninth year, the show promises to be bigger and better and promises to keep both the young and the old hooked to the show.
The show has twenty one participants aged between 3.5 and 9 years of age. Participants from Kolkata, Bangalore and different parts of West Bengal have participated in this edition of the dance reality show. After four months of auditions in different areas, 21 participants have been selected from over fifty thousand children who came in for the auditions.
Seated on the judges’ seat will be Jisshu Sengupta, Srabanti and Ankush. “I cannot even imagine how they remember all those dance steps so well. When I was their age, I was not even half as smart as they are now!!” said actress Srabanti.
The hosts of the dance reality are six year old Raktim Samanta and eight year old Raktima Das. “Though the names are quite similar, they are not real life brother and sister. That is strictly coincidental” revealed actor Jisshu Sengupta.
The unique aspect of this season’s Dance Bangla Dance Junior is the fact that there is a fairyland setting to the set. A toy train and its driver are often seen in between sequences. “We are having a great time with the kids who are so talented. I, Ankush and Srabanti have even had a great time on the toy train on the sets” added Jisshu Sengupta.
Captain of the Performer award will be given to the best performer of the episode. With more sponsors joining hands later on, there will scholarships given to the children for helping them with their education.
The show Dance Bangla Dance Junior will be aired from 4th July from 9.30 pm.
HDFC Life, India’s leading private life insurance company and #fame announced the launch of India’s first ever digital talent hunt for kids for categories in dancing, singing, musical instruments and comedy. This unique initiative will invite talented children between the ages 6 and 14, from across the country to participate in the competition by uploading their video on its website. Acting as mentors of the show will be Lauren Gottlieb, Cyrus Sahukar, Siddharth Mahadevan and others.
The ABCD 2 actress, Lauren Gottlieb who was extremely enthusiastic about the launch, commented that this will be a medium of great exposure and personal learning. Distinguished VJ, comedian and Bollywood actor Cyrus Sahukar said that the entire concept is unique and very innovative. With the help of a smartphone one will be showcase their kid’s talent in front of the world. Known for his songs in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Siddharth Mahadevan said that music is the best stress buster. Platforms like this will give the kids the required boost.
HDFC Life YoungStars is driven primarily on the digital medium. Right from the call for entries round, wherein one just needs to upload a video on the website, to all its following phases, to the grand finale, the entire property is digital based. Selected contestants who make the cut will be nurtured through the course of the show in their respective fields by the mentors. Finalists from each category will then get a chance to perform with their mentors and also win various other exciting prizes.
“I have never been associated with a reality show before, despite receiving great offers from different channels. The reason why I said yes to the show is because this is exclusively for the kids. I love kids and it is always interesting to see them perform. You get to learn so much from them” said ace choreographer Ganesh Acharya while shooting for Bindass Dance at a studio in Rajarhat.
The thirty contestants who had been selected for the show have been chosen from over six thousand contestants. The contestants have come from all over the state.
Sujay Kutty, Channel Head, Colors Bangla and Odia said “We have a great ensemble of judges and great anchors. The contestants are great and the audiences will have a great time watching them perform”.
Directed and conceptualized by Subhankar Chattopadhyay, the new show will be hosted by Kanchan Mullick and Ayush. The show will be judged by Ganesh Acharya, June Maliah and Sayantika. Choreographer Saroj Khan acted as the special judge of this show.
Ace choreographer Saroj Khan who was present as the special judge on the show said “This is a welcome break from the dance reality shows that I have been to. Other dance shows focus mainly on the Western dance forms. But after watching the kids perform here, I am glad that the kids have been performing to folk songs, Kathakali and the other dance forms of India. I loved watching them perform”.
June Maliah who is the judge of this show also highlighted on the fact that telling No to a kid was very difficult. “I found saying no to a child difficult. We have to ensure that their feelings are not hurt when we say no to them. That makes the task of judging difficult” said the actress.
The new show will begin from 10th August, Monday to Wednesday at 9pm on Colors Bangla.
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 7) is one of the most popular dance reality shows involving celebrities. The show is aired on Colors every Saturday and Sunday. The concept of the show is inspired from the international dance reality show “Dancing with the Stars”. The Teen Ka Tadka theme has been selected for the contestants this week. Apart from the contestant and the choreographer, a third celebrity will be added to check whether the duo can still maintain their rhythm and dance gracefully.
Some of the past contestants will also be seen as the third person in this Teen Ka Tadka round. The pairings will be Sana Saeed – Ashish Sharma, Karan Tacker – Kryslte D’Souza, Sophie Choudry – Eli Avram, Akshat-Dadi (Ali Asgar), Mouni Roy – Faisal.
Mukti, one of the contestants in the show felt it to be an honor to be performing before the judges Karan Johar and Madhuri Dixit. She however hoped that she is paired with her elder sister Shakti. Sana Saeed who participated in the last edition of Jhalak cannot wait to again shake a leg on the stage and get applauded by her favorite judges.

Maa, one of the popular serials to be aired on Star Jalsa ended on 3rd August.The serial which was aired from Monday to Saturday became a huge popular show all over Bengal it will no longer be there with the audience from 4th August. Post the ending of this mega serial, a mega event will be aired named Maa Tomader Jonnyo which will be bringing back memories relating to stories of Maa. This is also an entertaining show which will have some of the well known people from all walks of life speaking about their mothers and even the vacuum that loss of a mother creates in one’s life.
