Love and relationships form an important element in director Alok Roy’s New Bengali Film Somporko. The film Somporko deals with the love between Debu (Sagnik) and Dola(Pamela). However due to some twists in circumstances and fate, the two of them do not marry each other. Dola gets married off to Gopal (Aviraaj). Gopal works in a company. However every night he comes back home late at night drunk. He does not give his wife Dola enough time. This leads to the deterioration of their relationship. It is in this scenario that Debu comes back and their long lost love again becomes strengthened. Dola’s life becomes complicated when she has to choose between the two. What happens next forms the rest of the story. Whether Dola stays with her drunkard husband or goes back to her lost love is what the audience will have to wait and watch.
The film which is in the final stages of shooting has been directed and written by Alok Roy. Pinky Films 2012 is the banner under which this film has been made. Alok Roy said “The content is very topical and this happens to individuals. Many women are trapped in love less marriages and they often face the same complications like the character of Dola will be seen facing in my films. Hence I thought of taking this issue and making a film on it. I hope the audience gets my message that I want to convey with the help of my film”. Pranay Adhikari is the music director of this film. The film has been shot in various parts of the city of Kolkata. Aviraaj, Pamela, Sagnik, Rahul Barman, Debraaj Ray, Ramen Roy Chowdhury, Shoma Chakraborty, Papiya Debrajan, Rohit Rout will also be seen in important roles in this soon to be released film.
The film is slated for release soon in cinema halls all over the city.
