Kolkata Restaurant Village at Diamond Plaza Mall
The restaurant has been designed in such a manner so that the people will be able to get a taste of the long forgotten traditions and culinary secrets of the Indian culture and heritage. The moment you enter the restaurant you feel like you are transferred to a village.
Speaking at the occasion Deepak Bassi said “This idea came to my mind about eight years back. I have been in this business for many years now. My father worked in the Railways and we travelled a lot. I was exposed to the diverse food and culture of the country and slowly this idea accumulated in my mind. The idea to make this restaurant was simply to cater to the needs of the people for a truly Indian restaurant where they can simply sit and enjoy the meals. They can eat with their hands or with fork and spoon. The choice is entirely theirs. I always wanted a restaurant where people will be able to come with their family and enjoy. This is just the place and I hope the people in the city will appreciate the effort”.
To ensure that the customers are given a diverse menu, dishes from all over the country will feature on the menu. Punjabi, Gujarati, South Indian, Bengali dishes in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices will be available for the people.
Punjabi dishes include Paneer Tikka Masala, Dal tadka, Punjabi Chhole while some of the Marwari dishes include Gatte ka Sag, Bedi Saveria, Kon Vafla, Pav Bhaji and others. Apart from this a great range of mouth watering chats and ice-creams that people coming to the restaurant will get to enjoy.
The customers, on entering the restaurant will also be given a stamp on their hand. This will give them the license to go in and out of the restaurant for three long hours. This has been done simply to give the customers the space to complete their shopping at the mall and also to come back and enjoy the buffet lunch or dinner.
Variety of regional entertainment is also made available for the people like Garba, Dandia, puppet show, ghoomar dance and others.
